Radiation Processing Modeling – A Booster for Your Product Design
Recorded on Thursday, November 16, 2023
With guest speakers:
Samuel Dorey, Principal Scientist Materials & Irradiations, Product Development
SARTORIUS
Antoine Ghilardi, Business Engineer
TRAD TESTS & RADIATIONS
Damien Prieels, Domain Principal Expert
IBA INDUSTRIAL
The qualification of irradiated products to assess their performance is mandatory and obviously requires prototypes in hands, which can be a (long) iterative process. In a world where time to market is essential to remain competitive, Radiation Processing Modelling is an appropriate tool to consider radiation impacts and dose distribution at an early stage of the product design and therefore improve the design efficiency of a new product.

Our Distinguished Presenters:
Business Engineer
TRAD Tests & Radiations
Following a university degree in bioinformatics, and a business school with a major in biotechnology and bioindustry, Antoine joined Abbott Informatics where he became Laboratory Software Sales Manager.
He joined TRAD Tests et Radiations in 2018, and has since held the role of Sales Development Manager for RayXpert software and associated services.
Domain Principal Expert
IBA Industrial
Physicist and engineer, Damien has 30 years of successful experience in high tech industries where he used his strong scientific background and leadership skills to address complex technical challenges. Among other things, he set up and led several scientific collaborations with international partners.
At IBA industrial for more than 2 years, he uses his experience in radiation physics to lead IBA research programs in radiation processing.
Principal Scientist, Materials and Irradiations, Product Development
Sartorius
Samuel has a strong focus on the radiation application effects on materials used in single use systems for biopharmaceutical processes. Samuel is involved in promoting and facilitating the application of alternative ionizing radiations to gamma with X-rays, co-chairing and attending in that field industry groups/associations such as the BPSA, Biophorum, Irradiation Panel, making also the links with regulatory bodies and authoring papers on gamma/X-ray/Ebeam impacts on plastic materials.
Samuel is Principal Scientist, Materials and Irradiations, within Sartorius Product Development.
