Moving Forward amidst Uncertainty in Label Regulation from the FDA & USDA through a Science Based Approach, Blending Consumer Research & Motivation while Balancing Statements & Claims, Mitigating Legal Risks and Providing Transparent Food Labels
Building on over five years of educational platform development and delivery through the Annual Q1 Food Labeling: Evolving Regulatory Compliance Conference, hosted annually in Alexandria in January, this upcoming course will provide participants with a holistic and in depth education on the current climate within the food labeling realm from multiple valuable perspectives. The US food and beverage industry is seeing overwhelming changes in regulatory compliance due to new laws implemented by the FDA and USDA, including new requirements surrounding the Nutrition Facts Label, which must reflect updated scientific information and provide consumers with relevant and updated details to assist in making the best food decisions. Regulatory labeling executives will gain tremendous value from interacting with like-minded executives who have had success implementing these novel requirements. Forward thinking food and beverage executives must also take into account consumer preferences and consider new claims, including natural, wholesome, organic and others, which carry risks from varied interpretations and at times, a lack of certification. The movement towards clean labels and food products continues to impact food manufacturers in numerous ways, which, coupled with regulatory changes leave much to be interpreted and implemented. Hearing best practices from early adopters of the clean label initiative and insights into how other organizations have labeled claims with ambiguous definitions will provide attendees with an unrivaled educational opportunity. Hosted in Chicago this August, this one-time course will be of great interest to not only those local to the Midwest market, but also participants that were unable to join Q1 at the Alexandria meeting hosted in January 2018.
