(Chicago) – Food labeling professionals will have the opportunity to discuss the most top-of-mind issues, regulations and changes at the 2nd Annual Food Labeling: Evolving Regulatory Compliance Conference in Arlington, Virginia, February 4-5, 2016. The conference, back by popular request, will offer peer-to-peer workshops, interactive panel discussions, and in-depth, high-level sessions led by industry experts.

This year, conference delegates can expect a wide array of topics, including insight on the role of the Federal Trade Commission in food and beverage marketing claims, proposed regulatory changes to added sugars labels, evolving USDA labeling requirements, cost reduction strategies in relabeling, and much more. Nearly two dozen of the industry’s most successful and influential professionals will be on hand to lead sessions and panels, including Carolyn Hamm of the Federal Trade Commission, Robert C. Post of Chobani, Jeff Canavan of USDA, and Cathy Weir of Mead Johnson Nutrition.

Several of the latest proposed changes will be addressed, such as the proposed mandatory addition of added sugars to nutrition facts labels, regulatory position on genetically engineered labeling, and challenges related to international labeling regulatory requirements. Consumer behavior will also be addressed, with discussions on buyer behavior as it relates to food labels and increased transparency to consumers. Conference delegates will take part in open-floor discussion on all sessions and will have opportunities for question and answer as well as additional networking opportunities throughout the event.
